I. Overview of collections

The archival collection in Archives of Sichuan Agricultural University is rich, dating back to 1906 in Qing Dynasty, which truly reflects the Sichuan Agricultural University history of its founding, development, integration, and expansion over one century. It consists of archives prior to the establishment of Sichuan Agricultural College in 1956, archives of Sichuan Agricultural University and archives of Dujiangyan Forestry School. By the end of 2012, the total archival collections had amounted to 50,000 volumes, including the archives of Sichuan Agricultural University(Archives #1), the archives of Sichuan Agricultural School, Sichuan University(Archives #2) and the archives of Sichuan Forestry School( Archives #3). Among them, there are 6801 volumes of documents, 11603 volumes of financial records, 2993 volumes of personnel records, 24336 volumes of student records, 4527 volumes of test papers, 3427 photos, 285 physical objects and 2773 volumes of other types of records

1.The archives of Sichuan Agricultural University (1956--- present）

They include:

▪ documents and materials about the party and mass organizations and administrative departments;

▪ documents and materials about foreign affairs management and activities;

▪ documents and materials about comprehensive educational administration, product production and technology development management;

▪ documents about scientific research, infrastructure engineering, instrument and equipment, publication and financial management, etc.

2. The archives of Sichuan Agricultural College, Sichuan University （1906-1956)

The archives contain the documents and materials of Sichuan Agricultural School, Sichuan University and the documents and materials of Sichuan Tongsheng Agricultural School.

They include:

▪ documents and materials from superior organs;

▪ documents and materials about teaching activities.

3. The archives of Sichuan Forestry School (1953-2000)

The archives include all types of documents and materials before Sichuan Forestry School merged into Sichuan Agricultural University.

II. Introduction to types of records & ways to access them

There are many varieties of records. Here is a brief overview of the records:

1. Official papers records(1906--- present)

They mainly include:

▪ documents and materials about the party and mass organizations and administrative departments since the establishment of our university;

▪ documents and materials about foreign affairs management and foreign affairs activities;

▪ documents and materials about educational management, product production and technology development management;

▪ documents and materials about scientific research, infrastructure engineering, instrument and equipment, publication and financial managements, etc.

2. Teaching records(1956--- present)

The teaching records are the documents and materials about teaching management and teaching practice activities, including:

▪ documents and materials about integrated management of teaching;

▪ documents and materials about construction of disciplines & laboratories;

▪ documents and materials about administration of students status, classroom teaching & practice, graduation work and textbooks, etc.

3. Scientific research records(1984--- present)

The records include:

▪ documents and materials about integrated management of scientific research;

▪ documents and materials about scientific research preparations;

▪ documents and materials about research and experiments;

▪ documents and materials about summary and evaluation of scientific research;

▪ documents and materials about awards application and awards;

▪ documents and materials about commercialization and application of the university's technological achievements.

4. Infrastructure engineering records (1960- --present)

The records include the documents and materials of integrated management of infrastructure construction, feasibility study, basic design materials, design documents, project management documents, as-built documents and drawings, as well as documents of production technology preparations, and budget, budgetary estimate and final account settlement of trial production infrastructure construction, etc.

5.Financial records (1962- present)

The financial records include the documents and materials of integrated financial management, accounting vouchers, accounting books, accounting statements and payrolls, etc.

6.Foreign affairs records（1978-present）

The foreign affairs records include the documents about integrated management of foreign affairs, overseas visit/education/study, foreign teacher affairs, giving lectures, further study, investigations, international cooperation and international conferences, etc.

7. Publication records (1978--- present)

The records include the documents in the management activities of SAU Newspaper, SAU Journal and higher education, and SAU Newspapers and SAU Journals published over the years.

The above mentioned records can be searched, retrieved and accessed via subject catalogue index (by question category), master index, as well as computer, etc.
