Yang Jiashou, also called Yang Han whose pseudonym was Yang Fulin, was born in Longhua Town,  Nanchuan County in 1923. After graduating from Daonan Primary School, Nanchuan County, he went to Nankai Middle School in Chongqing. In the autumn of 1945, he was admitted to Sichuan University and majored in agronomy. In addition, he joined the progressive academic Societies Li Li Cao, Natural Science Research Society and Liming Chorus successively. In March 1948, Mr.Yang also joined the Democratic Youth Association of China led by CPC and organized a ten-people reading club where people read revolutionary books and magazines in university during his school years. He recommended his politically reliable schoolmate as chairman of his grade and united his schoolmates as one. Before graduating, he organized 4 large -scale activities like a sports meeting and an outing at school which was regarded as Liberated Area by the progressive students.

Following the party’s plan, he went to the countryside from college to take part in a peasant movement at the end of April in 1949 and he, as a teacher and employee, conducted the masses work in the countryside in Linji Town, Qionglai County. He joined the Communist Party of China in June and very soon became the secretary of the party branch, leading the peasants to fight against taxes. When it’s time to harvest in August, he led the masses to fight against the compulsory conscription in the ways that relatives called on relatives to participate in the fight and neighbors called on their neighbors to take part in the fight. The guerrilla group was established by his leaders in Qionglai County, so he was appointed as deputy political commissar of Mingqiong Group to cooperate the PLA men in order to block and destroy the army of the Kuomingtang. As a result , more than 3000 enemies were captured, over 3000 weapons were seized by PLA men with the cooperation of Chuankangbian People Guerrilla Column, but 80 guerrillas sacrificed their lives. Mr. Yang always took the lead to fight against the enemies very bravely in Mayanling Battle and Tongqiao Battle. He also took charge of admitting the sick and the wounded to the hospital, dealt with the remaining problems about money and grain etc. in the logistics support work, took the lead to inspect the sentries seriously and kept sticking to his post in his army, too.

Around the New Year of 1950, the counties in West Sichuan were liberated successively and Mr. Yang were appointed as deputy head of Pingle Town, Qionglai County, whose work was to collect grain by quota and suppress bandits. On January 22,1950, the bandits rioted and besieged the urban area of Qionglai County.Unfortunatly, he was caught by the bandit policeman because his accent was different from the local people’s. Facing the enemy, he said frankly and unflinchingly, '' I am Yang Jianshou . I am a member of CPC. I am the deputy head of Pingle Town.'' He told the bandits about the situation at that time and the policy of CPC. He also said to the enemies that if they gave up their weapons to surrender and atoned for their crime, they could find their way out. He was killed at the age of 26 by the bandits in Jindianzi,  Kongping Town. After his death, his schoolmate inscribed the words 'He created the spring for the people, but he rested in peace in the spring ' at the back of his photo. He is not only commemorated by his classmates, but also remembered by the people.
