kang Mingmhui was born in Wenjiang, Chengdu, Sichuan Province in 1898. kang Minghui was admitted to Sichuan Public Agricultural School (the predecessor of Sichuan Agricultural University from 1914 to1927) in 1920 and he majored in Forestry. Influenced by Wang Youmu, one of his teachers in his school, Mr. Kang joined the Communist Party of China. Mr. Kang put forward the idea of seizing political power by armed force in the early years of the communist party and he also participated in the Northern Expedition and the Nanchang Uprising.

Mr. Kang joined the the first Marxist reading club in Sichuan Province in 1921, established by Wang Youmu, a pioneer in Sichuan Marxist movement. Mr. Kang tended to do research into social problems of China and put them forward for discussion according to the basic principles of Marxism. Influenced by Marxism, he followed the revolutionary path and his belief in Marxism was formed. In the summer of 1922, Mr. Kang joined the Sichuan Socialist Youth League, founded on the basis of the reading club by Wang Youmu. Mr. Kang served successively as an alternate executive committee member, an executive committee member of the 2nd Sichuan Socialist Youth League, an executive committee member of the 3rd Sichuan Socialist Youth League, an executive committee member, a secretary of the 4th Sichuan Socialist Youth League, a secretary of the Sichuan Province Students Federation and a director of General Affairs Department of Sichuan Province Civil Rights Movement Grand Alliance. He took an active part in the Movement for Independent Expenditure on Education. He disseminated Marxist thoughts among students and workers, publicizing the Russian revolution. He thought that workers, peasants and soldiers should take power and he said frankly, " The only way out for poor people is that workers and peasants unite as one and take revolutionary measures to beat down the local tyrants, evil gentry and feudal warlords."

Assigned by Wang Youmu, kang Minghui went back to his hometown to do a survey of rural areas in 1923. Witnessing the situation that warlords scuffled, refugees strolled around and bandits looted at that time , he was in a very low mood. On reflection, he thought it was a wonderful opportunity to mobilize and organize the masses to set up the revolutionary armed forces. Therefore, he brought about the idea to the Communist Youth League that the proletariat workers and peasants should be recruited to create armed forces and he also suggested that the young proletariat workers and peasants in all the counties and prefectures should be immediately transformed into armed forces.

kang Minghui resolutely carried out the directives and resolutions of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and assisted actively Wang Youmu to reorganize the Youth League. He improved the fighting capacity of the Communist Youth League , strengthened the local organization of the Communist Youth League, thus the decisions of the Communist Youth League were implemented expeditiously.

In 1925 kang Minghui received an order to set off to Guangzhou and he was admitted to the Huangpu (Whampoa) Military Academy, where he joined the 4th term military engineering program. After graduating from the Huangpu (Whampoa) Military Academy , kang Minghui was appointed as engineer platoon leader in Cai Tingkai Army, the Second Front of the National Revolutionary Army and participated in the the Northern Expedition. In war, he took the lead and fought very bravely. He was promoted to engineering platoon leader after Wuchang was captured. kang Minghui participated in the August 1 Nanchang Uprising after Chiang kai-shek betrayed the revolution and started the April 12 Massacre.

kang Minghui went back to Wengjiang District, Chengdu to carry out the revolutionary work in 1927. In 1928 he established a progressive society, known as Qing Fengshe and he founded a journal , entitled Qinggang, publicizing the communist party’s views. He was appointed as the first Special Branch Secretary of the communist party of Wenjiang in 1930. He was sold out by a traitor later on. For his safety, the Party leaders transferred him to Jiangxi Revolutionary Base. Unfortunately, Kang Minghui sacrificed his life in Jiangxi in 1931.
